The problem

You don't know who'll be there.

At most events you arrive without knowing anyone, and dating apps match you with people who will never be in the same room. I wanted the ticket itself to decide who you can meet.

What I built

The ticket is the filter.

Noxia events: trending nights with genre tags

Find the night

Events are browsed by genre and by what's trending this week, each with its venue, date and price.

Noxia tickets with QR code and a Match button for each event

The ticket unlocks the match

Every ticket carries its QR code for the door and a Match button that opens the matching area for that event only.

The Noxia organiser area with venue, ticket scanner and event stats

For organisers

Organisers get their own area: a venue profile, event creation, a scanner for tickets at the door, and attendees, tickets and revenue at a glance.

Key decisions

Four decisions behind the product.

  • Match only inside the event. You can match only with people who have a ticket for the same event. No random profiles.
  • Visibility under your control. Your profile is visible only to other ticket holders for the same event, and can be set to invisible at any moment.
  • Safety in one tap. Any user can be blocked or reported in one tap. A block is immediate and removes the match and the message history.
  • Free for the people using it. Matching and chat are included; you pay only for the ticket when the event is paid.
What I learned

Reliability beats features.

I had friends try it. Their biggest worry was not privacy but the site crashing mid-event and costing the organiser money. For people who run events, reliability matters more than any feature.

What's next

A real night, with a real organiser.

Run Noxia at one event with an organiser, with reliability under load as the first thing to measure.
